about-how-to-fangirl-htfg

Hello, and welcome to HTFG!

We are women who love talking about our passions. Passion is hard to find the older you get, but there is a lot of great content out there if you look. We consider ourselves well-versed in all things fandom-related. Unlike the derogatory term used to describe “fangirls”, we aspire to inspire. This is a place to be you; we want this blog to be inclusive. Our site is for recommendations, reviews, rants, and loving what we love. Interaction is the key, so please feel free to leave comments, reviews, recommendations, and feedback.

Our message is simple and clear:

Fangirls are not mindless, silly girls. We are smart, well-read, funny, and interesting. We are taking the negative connotation away from the world and making it positive.

Whether you are an out-and-out nerd, or closeted, you are welcome here.

Thank you for visiting, make sure you are following us for the latest posts! If there is anything you want us to tackle, message us and we’ll check it out!

Caitlin & Leah

Caitlin is the mom of a Muggle. This is hard to overcome, especially since she herself was a prefect for Gryffindor (ask her about her patronus). Dean and Sam Winchester call her for help anytime they are hunting in the area. Caitlin is tough as nails and loves adventures. Her biggest adventure will be the 2015 Comic-Con. Crafts and Cosplay are typically on her mind. She knows how to make a mean salt circle and can understand Enochian.

LeahBuffy2

Leah is a stay-at-home mom. She trains daily to be the next Chosen One. Slaying is hard, but her husband is amazingly understanding for a Jedi. She has two girls whom she hopes receive letters from Hogwart’s someday. Leah loves the BuffyVerse, Sherlock, Supernatural, Doctor Who, Netflix, books, music, DIY, and, well, lots of other things. Basically it is all or nothing with Leah. Giles is typically annoyed.

  1. I love this about page! So witty and intelligent!
Ive just changed my name (it was kaboodlemum) we were chatting earlier on my 50 shades post… Anyway, I agree with you, it’s not about screaming and shouting when you see someone you’re a fan of, it’s about being respectful to them (while screaming and crying on the inside)
I’ve never done the whole ‘belieber’ fangirl kind of shtick but when I saw matt smith (which turned out to be a lookalike) I froze on the spot and grabbed my boyfriends arm because I couldn’t believe it, even after realising it was a lookalike I was still awestruck lol, but I would never scream and shout…. Silent panic attacks are more my style!

    • Faye, you crack me up. I did the same thing when I met Justin Timberlake once (I was 18, it was ‘NSync) I froze so ridiculously. I’m pretty sure I own the worst photo ever taken of JT. I just look horrified! So, yes, I have had to learn to relax and calm down! Ha! Caitlin and I are so glad you like the blog! -Leah

      • I wrote about my pottermore identity crisis lol! Check it out of you want 🙂 but you’re right, it’s about being who we are, I love so many different things and living in the UK I very rarely meet someone who watches the same stuff as me, I needed a place to talk about my loves without feeling like it was falling on deaf ears!

      • Hey, I am SO jealous you are in the UK. I love your country. You’re going to get season 4 of Sherlock waaaay before the U.S.! Also, I’m watching season 2 of Broadchurch, The Fall, and Orphan Black. I will definitely read about the identity crisis. I’m a Gryffindor.

      • I’m ravenclaw but I never expected to be. Always thought I’d be gryffindor lol I’ve got to be honest, I’ve only watched the first two episodes of Sherlock (s1) I loved it! Couldn’t wait for more but one night it wouldn’t load and I tried supernatural and that’s where I’ve been since lol, will be going back to it after I’m done with spn 🙂
