SO sorry for the delay everyone! I think I’ve FINALLY recovered from the chaos that is Comic Con enough to START to blog!
Phew! It was seriously exhausting! An absolute blast and an amazing experience but SO exhausting!! I got in at 2 AM Tuesday morning and have been hanging out with my kid and recovering since. Today I went back to work and I’m able to blog! WOO!
So let me tell you about COMIC CON!!!
I had a short layover in Vegas (where I turned $10 into $56!- like a bad ass), had several Gin and Tonics then made it to San Diego around 2:40 (SD time).
I stayed with a GREAT friend of mine who I have known for over 10 years, Rhiannon. She moved to California years ago and never came back. The second I landed in SD I understood why!
Holy SMOKES it’s GORGEOUS!!! And the weather is perfect. All the time. I would be lying if I told you I didn’t look at Craigslist for jobs in San Diego already.
We unloaded my stuff into the house, I touched myself up and we took the 25-30 minute walk to the San Diego Convention Center.
We got there after they had already started handing out badges so we lucked out and walked in and immediately got ours! That was a bit of a relief after seeing the pure chaos outside.
We also were given our goody bags! We both got Batman vs Superman. Which was fine until I saw the Supernatural bags. I had no idea that bag trading was a thing. I never saw this in any of my research. People are SERIOUS y’all. We got blown off by SO many people, downright rude people. Maybe it’s because I’m from the south but I’m at least sweet when I turn someone down for something. EVENTUALLY we found a guy that would trade me. Our only Preview Night Win.
Then we saw the line.
SO MANY PEOPLE! We had no idea what was going on or what it was for. That thing probably wrapped around at least 50 times. Turned out it was the line to GET IN the Exhibit Hall.. Needless to say we were overwhelmed. Luckily, a Comic Con employee approached us at this point and filled us in that we didn’t need to get in that silly line because the second the doors opened we could just walk in.
So we did.
And it was INTENSE.
The floor was insane. Whoever said Preview Night was the least crazy, is crazy themselves because holy crap. That was the worst day. People were rude, zero common courtesy. People would straight up RUN into you and not batt an eye. It was a shock for two southern gals who were raised with manners. BUT the floor was amazing. We saw so many cool things.
After looking at all we could, we left to get cleaned up.
I’m SUPER bummed I missed the Game of Bloggers event (sorry to anyone that was there!) but after flying all day and the madness of Preview Night, we decided to just do dinner and wine with some good friends of Rhi’s. We had amazing pasta, wine, then ice cream.
Then we slept and got up and did it all over again! But more on that coming soon!!
Rhiannon FINALLY (love you Rhi 😉 ) got me some of the AMAZING pictures she took at Comic Con! SO I wanted to add some of those to this post and I’ll share some more this week!!
ps- if you want to check out more of Rhi’s photography (and you should – she’s incredible) check here out HERE.
